CNELM is a renowned Centre of Excellence in higher education, teaching cutting-edge undergraduate and postgraduate courses in nutritional science and personalised nutrition, among others.
The degree programmes are validated by Middlesex University for Distance Education.

At CNELM, the academic year runs from January to December. Students can start studies in January, April or September. IINH graduates also have the opportunity to start in June each year.

Delivery
The programmes are delivered online and can be studied part-time or full-time. Students have the opportunity to join live webinars, tutorials, journal club and other activities. Webinars are recorded and can be accessed afterwards.
Assessment
Coursework assessed: The PG Diploma shares the same 30 credit taught modules as the MSc programme. The MSc includes a 60 credit Research Dissertation.

Personalised Nutrition
This postgraduate programme in Personalised Nutrition is an intellectually stimulating and rigorous course of study (see modules below) designed to cultivate an evidence-based, personalised nutrition approach and promote lifelong learning and career opportunities for graduates.
This advanced study programme, created and first delivered in 2012 by CNELM, is designed to serve healthcare professionals keen to expand their understanding and practice of person-centred nutrition and medicine. It attracts great interest from nutritional therapists, as well as other health professionals including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists and complementary therapists.
Personalised Medicine is a rapidly emerging approach that will revolutionise the current medical paradigm. Personalisation is particularly applicable to the field of Nutrition, and over the next decade CNELM is investing in building a research centre focused on Evidence-Based Personalised Nutrition and Evidence-Based Health Coaching. Postgraduate Entry Requirements
A prior degree or degree equivalent qualification. Graduates with professional qualifications are considered on an individual basis. A Bridging Course to join the MSc may be recommended for applicants without a prior degree.
IINH Nutritional Science & Therapeutics (Nutritional Therapy) graduates with a prior degree should meet direct entry requirements to join the MSc or Postgraduate Diploma in Personalised Nutrition.
IINH Nutritional Science & Therapeutics (Nutritional Therapy) graduates without a prior degree may
- be offered a Bridging Course to MSc
- can apply to transfer academic credits from the Pearsons accredited IINH Diploma (if applicable) to complete the BSc Hons in Nutritional Science.

Time Commitment
- MSc Course length: (1800 hours), 1 year full-time; 1.5 – 3 years part-time.
- PG Diploma Course length: (1200 hours),1 year full-time; 2 years part-time
Most CNELM students study part-time. The course runs throughout the academic year.
- 1 year full-time equivalent to 1800 notional hours over the academic year
- 2 years part-time equivalent to 900 notional hours over the academic year
- 3 years part-time equivalent to 600 notional hours over the academic year
Course Outline
IINH graduates enrolled on the MSc or PG Diploma must take Evidence Based Personalised Healthcare. IINH graduates can choose 3 of the remaining 4 modules to make up 120 credits. MSc students then complete a 60 credit Research Dissertation.
Please note, it is up to each applicant to find out what the legal requirement is for practising as a nutritional therapist in the country they plan to practice.
Please note, applicants taking Bridging modules to the MSc in Personalised Nutrition at CNELM are recommended to find out whether an undergraduate degree in the field of nutrition is required in the country they are residing as some countries will require this. If this is the case you can progress via the BSc Hons Nutritional Science programme at CNELM.
